In 2001, I completed my Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from Bastyr University. While there, I worked as a formulator in the Chinese Herbal Medicine Department and as a a clinical supervisor and adjunct instructor.
My post-graduate work includes extended clinical internships at Chengdu University Hospital and Shen Zhen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a 2 year clinical apprenticeship 5-Element acupuncture. I have a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Management from Harvard University.
I am also the founder of Moxa NW, a project that designs and supplies innovative healing tools to practitioners and their patients.
When I started college my primary academic interests were Environmental Science and Public Health. I quickly realized that I wanted to have a hands-on impact. I moved to Seattle and began my pre-med studies at the Univerisity of Washington. It was an exciting time but during my first year of medical school, I was hit by a car. I suffered significant injuries to my lower body and legs. At the young age of 22, and at the peak of my health, I became the patient. At that time, I had never even heard of Acupuncture! But you can guess what happened next….
